SAINTS legend Kevin Keegan says football fans are lucky to be able to enjoy talents such as Ronaldo and Messi.
The former forward, who himself was twice named European Footballer of the Year, said he feels this year it's hard to look beyond the Barcelona and Real Madrid talismans for FIFA's top prize for players.
He said: “Everyone wants you to say: 'who do you think is best?', but I always say: 'Just think how lucky we are to have two players like this'.
“It doesn't happen very often and really they should have shared it for the last four years. You could say 'joint winners Ronaldo and Messi', because the two of them have been on a different level to everyone.”
Keegan was speaking to FIFA's website ahead of the annual Ballon d'or awards.
He spent two years at The Dell, scoring 37 goals in 68 league appearances between 1980 and 1982.
