SYDENHAMS Premier outfit Bashley have kept their new managerial appointment in-house by turning to Paul Morris.

Morris had been assisting Tom Prodomo, who vacated the post last week to join Mark Molesley’s backroom staff at Weymouth, writes Neil Perrett.

Prodomo will continue to look after Bashley’s successful under-19s – an alliance with Brockenhurst College Football Academy.

The club had a youth-based development structure put in place by Prodomo, which will continue under Morris.

He will be assisted by head coach Leon Scott, goalkeeper coach Steve Sharkey and therapist, fitness coach and nutritional advisor Paul Diggins.

A Bashley statement read: “The new management team were an important part of this revival and, in the opinion of the executive committee, are the best people to build on this policy, based on training, fitness and individual development.”

Morris and Scott will also work with Prodomo and former Republic of Ireland international Liam Daish, who works for Brockenhurst Academy - managing Bashley under-19s.

The club expect the position of reserve team manager, formerly held by Scott, to be filled in the next few days.

Former New Milton defender Morris had assisted several managers at the club before agreeing to accept the post, while Scott is also a coach and lecturer in sport at the Brockenhurst Academy.

Sharkey has been goalkeeper coach at both Wimborne Town and Winchester City during his long career, while Diggins is also a highly-qualified physio and coach.
