GOSPORT Borough are homing in on a successor to Alex Pike.
The struggling Southern Premier outfit will be closing applications for the vacant manager’s post at 5pm today (Sunday).
With caretaker Danny Thompson at the helm, Borough crashed to their eighth straight league defeat at Stratford Town yesterday.
The damage was done inside the opening 11 minutes as Liam Francis and Will Grocott fired the hosts to victory.
It leaves Borough rooted to the foot of the table, still without a league point, ahead of Tuesday's (7.45pm) basement battle at Kings Langley.
Ex-Gosport midfielder Sam Lanahan eased Dorchester Town’s woes by scoring the 1-0 winner at Dunstable. It marked a perfect start for new Magpies boss Steve Thompson, former assistant to Garry Hill at Woking.
