Ronald Koeman has been sacked as manager of Everton.
The former Saints boss has paid the price for a dismal run of form which has seen the Toffees only win two of their last 13 league and cup matches.
Yesterday they were thrashed 5-2 at home by Arsenal, leaving Everton in the Premier League relegation zone.
A statement from the club read: "Chairman Bill Kenwright, the board of directors and major shareholder Farhad Moshiri would all like to express their gratitude to Ronald for the service he has given to the club over the past 16 months and for guiding the club to seventh place in last season's Premier League campaign."
Koeman walked out on Saints in the summer of 2016 to join the Merseyside club.
Earlier today Toffees defender Michael Keane - one of the players Koeman signed for a combined £150m in the summer - said he believed the players had let down Koeman.
