SUBSTITUTE Nathan Lynch scored a late extra-time penalty winner to give Hamble Club a thrilling 5-4 FA Vase rollercoaster victory over Brockenhurst.

Lynch stepped up to beat Brock goalkeeper Matt Taylor from the spot midway through the second period of added time after the visitors’ captain Matt Burt had tripped Mo Nyang in the box.

He drilled his spot-kick winner into the far corner to give the merry Monks a remarkable victory which had looked unlikely as they twice came from behind in normal time, writes MIKE VIMPANY .

Taylor rescued Brockenhurst with a frantic goalline save in the opening minutes when Nyang cut the ball back from the right.

Hamble called the tune early on with Liam Crook bossing the midfield, but Brockenhurst gradually gained a foothold in the tie and created some danger .

Rory Anderson saved comfortably from a Matt Sheedy header, but then made a fine stop to deny Mark Barker after a sweet glancing header by Mitch Speechley-Price had put the midfielder through.

The tie burst into life with three goals in five minutes – Brockenhurst forging a 2-0 lead.

BARKER deservedly got the first after a break from midfield and minutes later RONAN MOORE struck a superb second goal with a screaming left-foot shot.

But Brock’ s joy was short-lived as BEN KEMPLEN drilled Hamble back into the match, cutting the visitors’ lead to 2-1 at half-time .

The Badgers had a great chance to restore their two-goal advantage at the start of the second half when Barker set up Will Tickle, whose low shot was beaten out.

But Hamble’ s decision to bring on substitute Nick Watts paid immediate dividends when he laid on an equaliser for DOUG ROWE to side-foot the scores level to 2-2.

As play swung from end to end, Brock were next to score – some excellent work on the right by Tickle culminating in SPEECHLEY -PRICE putting the Foresters 3-2 up.

Substitute Joe Hayward twice went close for the visitors before Hamble levelled at 3-3 with four minutes of normal time remaining.

Sub Lynch created the chance, squaring the ball back from the right-hand byline for LIAM CROOK to equalise against his old club.

Brock 'keeper Taylor twice made saves as the referee added on nine minutes of stoppage time, sending the tie into extra time at 3-3.

Within two minutes of the extra period WATTS drilled Hamble in front for the first time with a sweet left-foot drive.

Brockenhurst quickly cancelled the goal out with BARKER making it 4-4, before Lynch’ s late penalty won it for the happy men of Hamble who are making the most of their first ever FA Vase campaign.
