AFC Totton will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run to nine matches when they make their longest trip of the season to lowly Barnstaple tomorrow.

But the Stags are without striker Tony Lee, whose loan spell from Poole Town has ended following the ankle injury he suffered at the end of last week’s 6-0 win against Bishops Cleeve.

Lee is expected to be out for a month.

Langdown said: “Tony’s got a hairline fracture in his ankle and it turns out he’s also been playing for a couple of weeks with a metatarsal injury.

“We were going to extend his loan to a third month but he’s now in a moon boot and crutches so won’t be playing for the foreseeable future, probably around four weeks.

“It’s been really good to have him, especially with Sherbs (Nathaniel Sherborne’s) having been unavailable after becoming a dad recently.”

Totton are otherwise at full strength for tomorrow’s six-hour round trip to Barnstaple.

They host Salisbury on Boxing Day.

Fourth-placed Salisbury side are only a point behind in the Southern League S & W’s top four.

Totton’s recent eight-match unbeaten run includes six wins.

It has lifted them into second place but Langdown is playing down any talk of promotion.

He said: “We’re not talking about it. There are sides with bigger resources and expectations than us but we’ll keep plugging away and hope our unbeaten run continues.

“When Adam Wilde and I came in we enjoyed keeping the club in the league and now we’re enjoying our time at the top end.”
