THE dream became glorious reality for former Sydenhams Wessex League club Thatcham Town today.
Led by ex-Alresford Town and Winchester City co-manager Danny Robinson, the Berkshire club will be gracing Wembley in the 2018 FA Vase final.
After beating 1874 Northwich 1-0 on home territory in the first leg, the Kingfishers finished the job in style with a 3-2 win in Cheshire to advance 4-2 on aggregate.
Gavin James struck twice to calm any early Thatcham nerves before Northwich replied from the penalty spot.
Shane Cooper-Clarke then made it 3-1 on the day and the hosts hit back with a header from a corner.
Thatcham will meet Stockton Town (3-2 aggregate winners over Markse United) in the final on Sunday, May 20 as part of a Wembley double header with the FA Trophy final between Brackley Town and Bromley.
Robinson's assistant, former Bashley player and manager Andy Darnton, tweeted earlier: "I've experienced a lot in my football career but wow wow wow. Thank you to you all, a great night awaits."
