George Burley has hit out at Pompey for making public their admiration for Nathan Dyer.
Pompey assistant manager Tony Adams has admitted that Saints' south coast rivals have been monitoring the teenage academy product "for a while".
Dyer is out of contract at the end of the season but showed the speculation has not affected him with another impressive display at Burnley, the club where he spent three months on loan two years ago, on Saturday.
But Adams's admission did not please Burley.
The Saints manager said: "I don't think other people should be talking about players from other clubs like that.
"Speculation is part of being a footballer when you're doing well, as Nathan is doing, but unfortunately that's the way some people do it these days."
