IT is by no means an easy task choosing the Daily Echo Saints Player of the Season for 2007/08.
Often when it comes to the annual poll, picking the top player is a fairly straightforward task.
There is usually an outstanding candidate, somebody who has figured every week and become a real favourite over the season.
However, in difficult times such as this season, it is a much harder call.
By definition, if the team is struggling around the lower reaches of the Championship, then many players will have under-performed.
You can make a case for several Saints players based on patches of form, but to select somebody who has been consistent over the entire 2007/08 season is a hard call.
That means the poll is wide open and could be closer than ever before.
My top three.
1) Andrew Davies.
2) Kelvin Davis.
3) Stern John.
