TIME is running out to sign up for one of the UK’s most unique races – The Ageas Bowl 10k, which starts and finishes at the headquarters of Hampshire Cricket.

Starting and ending at the Ashes test stadium on Sunday, October 8, will cross the finish line on the outfield in front of the iconic pavilion.

The Ageas Bowl 10k also benefits from a flat and undulating course perfect for beginners or experienced runners chasing a PB. There is free on-site parking and use of the stadium facilities.

Taking place the weekend before the Great South Run in Portsmouth, it is also a brilliant last training run for those preparing for the 10-miler just along the coast.

The event, which is being hosted in partnership with Running Mania and the Hampshire Wellbeing Centre, is raising money for the Hampshire Cricket Foundation.

The charity has previously donated more than £100,000 to help support the construction of a specialist rehabilitation space within the general intensive care unit at University Hospital Southampton and much more.

This year Hampshire Cricket Foundation is focusing on projects which support young people in urban areas – including inner city Southampton, where Hampshire Cricket runs its Hawks Academy.

Registration for the event closes at midday on Sunday, October 1, meaning time is running out to guarantee a place on the start line.

Entry is £22.50 for runners affiliated to clubs, or £24.50 for unaffiliated places. Everyone who takes part will receive a technical t-shirt and a medal. There are also prizes for leading runners.
