SAINTS’ relegation rivals Norwich have terminated manager Glenn Roeder's contract with immediate effect.

The Canaries were dumped out of the FA Cup by fellow strugglers Charlton last night and are currently only outside the Coca-Cola Championship relegation zone by virtue of goal difference.

Roeder moved to Carrow Road in November 2007 and helped steer the club away from relegation last season.

However, Norwich have struggled this season and Roeder leaves along with first-team coaches Paul Stephenson and Adam Sadler.

Saints, who beat Norwich 2-0 at St Mary’s in September to record their only league home league win of the season so far, travel to Carrow Road on Tuesday week for the return fixture.
