JAN-Paul Saeijs admitted Saints were both “sad” and “very disappointed” not to have beaten QPR.
The sides played out a 0-0 draw that was devoid of many chances and, at times, low on quality.
But Saints were undoubtedly the better team and Paulo Sousa’s men who have now not won for nine league games – were clearly happier with the point.
Centre back Saeijs said it was far from the result Saints had been hoping for.
“We are very disappointed,” he said.
“If you see the chances of us and the chances of QPR then we deserved to win.
“Tuesday (against Derby) was a little bit less, but today we had four or five chances and we didn’t score.
“We didn’t give anything away, but to win you have to score and it was very sad that we didn’t do that.”
