Radhi Jaidi will play for Saints’ reserves at Swindon tomorrow night in a bid to prove his match fitness for Saturday’s visit of Yeovil.

The Tunisian centre half was put on in place of Chris Perry for the closing stages at Charlton to add his physical presence to the mix and came through strongly.

But Alan Pardew feels he still needs a reserve team game under his belt before he can be considered to start at St Mary’s on Saturday.

Likewise loan striker Papa Waigo, who was used as a late sub at The Valley, needs more time to settle according to Pardew.

“Jaidi hasn’t played a game (this season),” said Pardew.

“I just felt his experience in that last 10-15 minutes would help and it did, it settled us down a little bit.

“He needs a full game which he will get at Swindon.

“Papa needs a game. He showed when he came on that he’s got talent and we need to make sure he’s match fit.

“I made a mistake at West Ham by putting Tevez in before he was match fit and I won’t do that again.”
