SAINTS have submitted bold plans for a state-of-the-art redevelopment of their Staplewood training ground.

The major project will result in a dramatic overhaul of the club’s New Forest base.

Staplewood’s existing buildings – excluding the dome – will be ripped down.

They will be replaced by a new two-storey structure, |complete with a range of impressive facilities.

Executive chairman Nicola Cortese is due to officially unveil the project tomorrow.

The provisional scheme has already been submitted to New Forest District Council for planning permission.

Saints have, however, confirmed the proposals have changed slightly from those initially put in.

Cortese is set to reveal the exact details at a press conference.

The scheme forms part of the club’s plans for its 125th anniversary, which occurs next year.

Saints believe the current buildings at Staplewood are “basic” and “unattractive”, with some of the areas deemed “significantly substandard”.
