COLCHESTER United have sent out a plea to their fans to help ensure their match against Saints next week can go ahead.

Alan Pardew's side are due to visit the Weston Homes Community Stadium a week today for the League One encounter.

However, Colchester's pitch is currently buried under several feet of snow.

That must be removed to allow the pitch to defrost in time for the match against Saints and the U's have asked their fans to help shovel the snow away over the next few days.
