SOUTHAMPTON golfer Richard Bland has continued his strong start to the season, by throwing himself into contention at the Dubai Desert Classic.
The European Tour pro shot five-under-par on day two of the event, moving him up about 50 places and into the top 20.
In a sensational finish, Bland birdied four of his last five holes this morning.
He is currently three-under-par for the tournament and four shots behind the leaders.
