ALAN Pardew is calling on Saints fans not to ‘do a Man United’ over the next year.
The Saints boss is grateful for the support he and his team have received at St Mary’s this season and praised the fans for their efforts.
But he believes Saints are going to face more and more opposition who come to the south coast with the aim of frustrating his side just as Oldham did on Tuesday night.
But he hopes when that happens the crowd will stay positive rather than go quiet which will only make it harder for the players.
He said: “The one thing I would hate for us to get is what Man United have at periods in their seasons when the crowd goes silent on them. I think that would be something I would be really fearful of at our club."
