OSCAR Gobern wants another shot at Manchester United in the FA Cup, after starting for the first time since facing the Red Devils nearly two years ago.

The 19-year-old midfielder got on the scoresheet yesterday, as Saints cruised into the third round of the competition by beating Cheltenham 3-0 at St Mary’s.

His first ever senior goal helped booked a place in this evening’s third round draw, when the heavy hitters are introduced.

Gobern’s previous start for Saints came against United in January 2009, when Jan Poortvliet’s side were thumped 3-0 at St Mary’s by Sir Alex Ferguson’s men.

But that hasn’t put the academy graduate off another pop at United and their star-studded team.

“I’ll take Manchester United away, that would be a great result,” said Gobern, who scored the third against Cheltenham and had another goal ruled out.

Gobern, who hadn’t made a first-team appearance since last January, added that the squad was pleased with the way they had put the Robins to the sword.

“It was very crucial to get the early goal, it calmed us down and then we just played our football really,” he said.

“All teams have their moments and you’ve got to weather the storm and take your chances when you get them, which we did to win 3-0.”

Saints will be ball number 55 in today's FA Cup third round draw, which takes place at 6pm
