SAINTS midfielder Oscar Gobern today completed a move to Huddersfield Town.
The 20-year-old, who had been offered a new deal at St Mary's, has signed a two-year contract with the beaten League One play-off finalists.
Huddersfield boss Lee Clark said: "He's a fantastic athlete standing at 6ft 3in. He has a cultured left foot and is very good on the ball.
"He'll be a great addition to our squad. Oscar has bought into the club and what we are trying to do here.
"He had a number of Championship clubs interested in him and was talking to Southampton about a new deal, but he has seen this club is on an upward curve and he wants to be a part of it."
As Gobern is under the age of 24, and had been offered a new contract at St Mary's, Saints are entitled to a fee, which has yet to be sorted out.
If the two clubs can't agree on a suitable figure then a tribunal will set the amount.
