NIGEL Adkins tomorrow celebrates an incredible first five years as a Football League manager.
The Saints boss is hoping to mark the anniversary with an important victory in this afternoon’s Championship clash at Coventry.
And, while most of the national attention will be on Sir Alex Ferguson’s 25th anniversary at Manchester United today, Adkins has every reason to toast his own milestone.
The 46-year-old will lead his team out at the Ricoh Arena as one of the most successful managers of the last half-decade in England.
And Adkins is well on his way to emulating former Saint Dave Bassett as the manager with the best start in English football history with regards to promotions.
