SOUTHAMPTON AC’S Danny White won the fifth round of the CC6 winter cross country in the depths of the New Forest. Carl Shirley, from Eastleigh Running Club, led almost the entire way around Bolderwood Enclosure, only to be caught on the line by White in a mad rush up the final hill.

Third man in was Lordshill’s Jim Davies, leading a small pack of club mates.

Totton Running Club hosted the race on the five-mile course for the second time.
