FALLING out of a three-storey window as a four-year-old is not the best preparation for a snooker career.
Still partially paralysed down his left side, Steve Wyatt can’t make a conventional bridge hand.
Remarkably, the 51-year-old limps into position, presses his cue against the side of his left hand and strikes the cue-ball with no backswing.
“I can’t lift the thumb up,” he explained. “It’s just one of those things. You get used to doing other things to get round it.
“My long game is not always that clever. That’s why I miscue a few times.”
And Wyatt added: “It wouldn’t have been too bad if I’d landed on my feet. But I didn’t.”
