Nigel Adkins has missed on the Championship’s manager of the month award for the fifth time this season.
The Saints boss has consistently seen his side sit atop the Championship table yet has been constantly overlooked for recognition, with this month’s award going to Reading boss Brian McDermott.
However, Adkins will probably not be too bothered as his side look good for automatic promotion to the Premier League and he is red hot favourite to win the Championship’s manager of the year award, which means sustained success rather than just over a one month period.
Kelvin Davis was also overlooked for the player of the month award which went to Garath McCleary of Nottingham Forest who scored six goals in seven games, including four in a 7-3 beating of Leeds at Elland Road.
