Saints are hoping to make it a Good Saturday after a Bad Friday as Reading and West Ham piled on the pressure ahead of today’s derby game against Portsmouth at St Mary’s.
The Royals bagged two goals in the closing minutes of their match against Leeds to knock Saints off of top spot in the Championship for the first time in almost two months.
And, later in the day, West Ham closed the gap between themselves and Nigel Adkins, right, and his men to just three points by demolishing Barnsley 4-0.
Saints though have the opportunity to grab the division by the scruff of the neck again when they take on struggling arch rivals Pompey this lunchtime.
A victory against their near neighbours would take Saints back to the top of the table and in pole position for promotion with five games left.
