IVY Phillips reached four finals and won the lot in the club championships that rounded off the indoor season at Banister Park.

The 2010 Southampton Open pairs queen teamed up with Nick Wood to pip Val Dibben and Barry Bendall 20-19 in the mixed pairs – and that victorious combination joined forces with Eileen and Neville Scovell to land the mixed fours 20-16 against Bridget May, Lorraine Prior, Ken Prior and Paul May.

Phillips, Marilyn Stubbington and Eileen Scovell defeated June Tonge, Gill Dando and Yvonne Bott 21-14 in the triples with Phillips completing a successful week by collaborating with namesake and Open partner Jenny Phillips, Tina Lebbern and Marlene Hutton to capture the ladies’ fours 26-12 against Elaine Shergold, Brenda Andrews, Pam Fraser and Valerie Taylor.

Steve Whitehead overwhelmed Brian Dibdin 21-3 to become club champion while the ladies’ honours went to Wendy Berry who beat Chris Hall 21-16.

Ken Prior, Derek Walker and Mick Slade shaded Dave Bines, Stuart Rowney and Rob Bines 15-13 in the men's triples. Prior, Walker and Slade were joined by Andy Anderson in the men’s fours but dropped a last-end three to lose 20-19 to Dave Bines, Bendall, Rob Bines and Paul May.

The men’s pairs was more clear-cut with Stuart Rowney and Paul May trouncing Maurice Munday and Ed Lane 38-10. Ladies’ drawn pairs went to Myra Turnell and Hall 25-10 against Sandy Lawrence and Midge Pitter.

Neville Scovell won both veterans’ singles beating Carol Burrow 21-18 in the mixed and Mike Page 21-10 in the men’s. Stuart Davies is under-25 champion with the men’s two-wood triples going to Alf Smith, Roger Penney and Colin Pitter.
