THE late Ken Caldwell would have chuckled with delight as the drama unfolded.

Two teams from his former club were separated by just one point in the five-frame aggregate points final of the Winchester City & District Snooker League’s knockout cup named in his honour.

Winchester Club B hero Geoff Rowlands clawed back a 59-point deficit in the last frame to record the most unlikely of victories.

But at least Winchester Club A can console themselves with the knowledge that they played a part in a remarkable final that will be dissected in the bar for many years to come.
