THE good news just keeps on coming for AFC Totton boss Steve Riley.

Striker Nathaniel Sherborne is the latest player to sign a two-year deal for the Southern Premier Division club, following hot on the heels of skipper Carl Pettefer.

He has oped to stay at the Testwood Stadium despite interest from promoted Sydenhams Wessex champions Winchester City, who wanted to pair him up with his old Totton teammate Michael Charles.

Mr Smyth, I have no comment to make about bluenose65's comments as I haven't seen him post anything for ages. Don't know the guy and have no opinion on him, but if and when he says something that I feel a need to comment on, I will.

I think from what ive seen of Mr Riley be should be a great success

One thing that cannot be denied is that the fans will back him and by the fact that these players have not left the club he must have respect already.

I feel that they will have a good year

I think you are right about behind the scenes. All good news on the playing front with new players coming in and current squad signing up for the season. I just hope that the committee can bring in the money. I feel that they might otherwise Steve R may not have taken the risk

Anyone who was at the fans forum last Thursday will know that a budget is in place for next season. A bigger budget than last season. The players and the fans are behind the manager and the committee, showed by the fact that two important players (Petts and Sherbs), who were out of contract and being headhunted by plenty of other teams, have committed themselves to the club for at least another 2 years. The committee also revealed that there is a potentially exciting sponsorship deal in the pipeline.

The future for AFC Totton looks sunnier than it did a few weeks ago.
