  • "Be in no doubt that NC is a winner. This guy is not happy with second best,we are going to be in the top six within two seasons. He is astute, frugal, a winner, and we are the luckiest fans in the country to have found ML and NC,and NA.
I have to keep pinching myself. When I think where we were 3 years ago. Please,I do not want to hear another negative comment against this iconic figure, without NC we would be dead and buried. He will go down in history,as not only saving the club, but taking the club to levels we could only dreamed of."

Davis signs on at Saints

First published in Sport

Steven Davis has become the latest player to put the Rangers saga behind him by signing a three-year deal at Southampton.

The 27-year-old was captain of the beleaguered Scottish side but left after rejecting a transfer to the newco club.

Davis follows the likes of Kyle Lafferty and Steven Whittaker out of the club and has joined newly-promoted Saints until 2015.

The move marks Davis’ return to the Barclays Premier League, where he played for both Aston Villa and Fulham.

The central midfielder left the latter for Rangers in 2008 after an initial loan and went on to win the 2010 Scottish Players' Player of the Year and captain the Ibrox club.

Northern Ireland skipper Davis becomes Saints’ second signing since promotion back to the top flight, following Jay Rodriguez’s £6million move from Burnley.
