Southampton keen on signing Christchurch's Harry Cornick
9:24am Friday 7th September 2012 in Sport
Harry Cornick
SAINTS and Stoke City are chasing one of the hottest teenage properties in south coast football.
And Bournemouth are also interested in Harry Cornick, who plays for Christchurch in the Sydenhams Premier Division.
The 17-year-old has attracted a number of scouts to Hurn Bridge this season following a string of impressive performances.
The sought-after winger/striker, from Poole, is also currently the subject of seven-day approaches from Dorset non-league rivals Poole Town and Dorchester Town.
However, Kemp says Cornick is keen to continue his studies and could opt to stay with Priory for at least another month before making a decision on his future.
Kemp said: “Stoke have had him watched, AFC Bournemouth have invited him to go to their development academy and Saints have been in touch to say they are going to watch him over the next two weeks to see what they think of him.
“There is a high level of interest.
“The one thing we are very concerned about is that everybody will want to make a buck out of him.
“When you are hot property, you are hot property.
“He doesn’t get paid for us and is on non-contract terms.
“He realises his best option is to be a non-contract player because he is then free to make his own choices.
“The fact is we would like to get a friendly out of whatever happens – if he decides to move on – as well as some recognition and, maybe, a small donation towards our new changing rooms.”
Christchurch have seen former stars Michael Green (Port Vale) and Ben Dickenson (Brighton) earn chances in the professional game in recent years.
But while Kemp believes Cornick is another bright prospect, he says he will not be rushed into a decision.
He added: “I am getting phone calls almost daily.
“I involve his dad in all the chats and I think he has pretty much come to the conclusion that he is going to take a month because there is just so much happening.
“It is very early days.
“The good thing with Christchurch is there is no pressure on him.
“But the general consensus is that – without bigging him up too much – at this age, he is better than Ben Dickenson.”
When asked about Cornick, Paul Groves confirmed Cherries were keen to monitor the local nonleague circuit.
The Cherries boss said: “What you try to do is make sure you cover everything in your area and don’t miss anything in your area.”

I understand we have also bought frozen sperm from 14 leading international players and it is now in test tubes with eggs bought from leading female Olympic gold medal winners. All participants have pre-signed the embryos to our academy.
Fantastic long term strategic planning.
As a fully committed Saint I have sent Nicola a tissue with a sample of my own for evaluation and have told him there will be no charge and no offence taken if it is deemed not quite up to scratch.

It's scary but in a few years they will probably actually do this for real. (If they are not already ??) You can easily imagine all top clubs taking the necessary samples from the best players and storing them with the long term intention of cloning.
It is just a stretch of the imagination today but if there are millions of pounds to be made then this will happen.
Players will all be looking to add the necessary tadpole clause in their contracts so they can take the samples with them when they get transferred.
Confucious you have started something here.

We all know there was no picketing of a naval dock in Pompey as the naval forces don’t strike.
The real story was actually that they brought scab labour from Poopey to to replace Mush Dockers in dispute like the rest of the dockers around the country. When did Poopey Scummers stop being thought of as Poopey Scummers in some quarters into Skates? Frankly unacceptable to me, my father, my granny and her granny and her grannys granny only know one thing.
POOPEY SCUMMERS!!!
They don't seem to be deterred in the least by the fact that there is no historical evidence whatsoever that a Southampton Company of Union Men ever existed, nor the fact Southampton workers have not once scabbed on them. It's actually quite a shameful lie, but what else would you expect?

We all know there was no picketing of a naval dock in Pompey as the naval forces don’t strike.
The real story was actually that they brought scab labour from Poopey to to replace Mush Dockers in dispute like the rest of the dockers around the country. Ask Granny Mush or Auntie Elspeth or any of the proud old Southampton people who would laugh in the face of what the modern Poopey Scummers are trying to spin on it.

We all know there was no picketing of a naval dock in Pompey as the naval forces don’t strike.
The real story was actually that they brought scab labour from Poopey to to replace Mush Dockers in dispute like the rest of the dockers around the country. we could go on about `loyalty` all night if you want. how about we start with how loyal our fans were when we were in div1, and yours were in the prem, our attendances still higher than yours! is that more loyal or not then? or when we were both in the champ no still higher than yours and now your fans are so loyal they cant be bothered to go to a local derby cup game, less than 6000! still its not as if you needed the money from the gate is it!

I've been told the club have put Hants and Dorset midwives on commission retainers to tip them off when likely-looking criiteria-meeting babies are born. We signed Alan, a 3 day old at Bournemouth General on Wednesday.

Poor old Bournemouth - saggy chops is back: http://www.bbc.co.uk /sport/0/football/19 522709 Wonder if that'll stop the rumours about his coming here?
anyway eddie mitchell and harry redkrap deserve each other! but i cant see that relationship lasting. perhaps eddie had a few too many when they met?
In fairness Jamie is a good guy so it is not his fault, but it must be a little disconcerting starring in a happy families ad with your wife, father, mother and extras but your brother with his nipper a'int allowed near it...

Has anyone been to see the new Batman film? I took my new girlfriend along last night. It was our ninth date and the first time we've not gone out for a bite to eat.
Our dates so far can be summarised as: dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner, Batman.
So if you will assist to make up for your obvious contravening of Mush copywright:
When did Squeeze become UK Squeeze?
When did Bombay become Mumbai?
When did Poopey Scummers stop being thought of as Poopey Scummers in some quarters into Skates? Frankly unacceptable to me, my father, my granny and her granny and her grannys granny only know one thing.
POOPEY SCUMMERS!!!
They don't seem to be deterred in the least by the fact that there is no historical evidence whatsoever that a Southampton Company of Union Men ever existed, nor the fact Southampton workers have not once scabbed on them. It's actually quite a shameful lie, but what else would you expect?

Ticket office has allegedly sold out, but they said that for City and there were loads of empty seats..
For anyone who cannot get a ticky we bought ours through an agent in London, cost us including booking fees about £20 more than SFC site..

The only thing that makes stunts think twice about going to games is when their team becomes rubbish.
Therein lies the difference between us. It's a thing called 'class'.

i dont want rivalry with the mummys boys of bore mouth or lifting the skirts of the Brighton crossdressers
i want what we have always had, good old fashion hatred of something blue and smelling of dead fish in the midday sun.

I never have and never will understand the need for the rivalry to turn into violence.
I am undecided wether the club should be liquidated or not,
i feel for the local businesses, taxman (us) and charities who have been robbed by the club i wish that the club should be made to pay these back in full over a (blue) few years even if that means having less players or staff, or even playing the youth and them being down the bottom of the leagues.
then i read comments on the fews website from fans saying how they would be ok just get a new CVA and things will be good! no compassion for anybody who has and are suffering because of the clubs actions. they think its great that they now only have to pay less than 1p in the £ from the first CVA. the tax bills dropped to less than £1/2 mill from over £25mill from that CVA! £24+mill from public funds which could have paid for so much particularly these days. when they are reminded of this they just say "we know about that but want our club to survive". they have no shame and are not embarrassed! blaming everyone and anyone else and not taking any responsibility themselves!
clubs should only be allowed to survive if they are viable and over the last few years poopey hasnt been! it comes to something when a club deliberately avoids paying tax to pay its players because it knows they will be punished more for not paying the players.
if it was liquidated at the end of last season, as it should have been, the fans would of had time to start `afc poopey` and entered a low low league. they would then have lost the `history` they so love
as i said i am torn between wanting them to survive and pay back their debts and just wanting rid of the lot of them. i think though robbing them of their much mentioned `history` swings it for me as there will be a pheonix club and we can `hate` that just as much.

then i read comments on the fews website from fans saying how they would be ok just get a new CVA and things will be good! no compassion for anybody who has and are suffering because of the clubs actions. they think its great that they now only have to pay less than 1p in the £ from the first CVA. the tax bills dropped to less than £1/2 mill from over £25mill from that CVA!
No sympathy at all.
Come on Crawley

worst refereeing display i have seen in many many years! sent 2 crawley players off for nothing decisions and fails to do the same for poopeys players, then send off the crawley manager!
looks like he sent the crawley player off to help poopey, but even with 10 men crawley looked as good if not better than the fish so he sent another player off!
action needs to be taken when refs are as bad as this! poopey would probably only drawn todays game but for the ref.
i am so glad we are out of the football league and away from refs as bad as that today. i know refs make mistakes and thats ok we all do, but to make as many as he has done today?
cue the pain in spain, fishin the hand, blueredndead! hello girls we havent missed you! and we know the ref won today!

Well in a week or so they will either be fan owned or BC owned or liquidising. Unless we get another deadline.
My monies is on another deadline!

Fans start taking the moral responsibility of the directors as a basis of support...there would be no Brighton, Leeds, Chelsea, Mufc, actually half the bloody league would be gone, christ were would you draw the line taxes owed to the public? well that's us screwed, ..come on...your confusing apples with pears.
What I'm trying to say is maybe due to the fact your skunt doesn't care is why certain types of owners gravitate towards owning clubs like them in the first place and other types towards clubs like us. Maybe the fan does have an influence in that sense.

I thought at the start of the season when the fixtures came our that our first points will come at home to villa, for some reason I was a little concerned about Wigan, after all they were one of the firm teams after Christmas, it was never going to be as easy as some made out.
Whatever happens this year I am so proud of our team and the way it is run. I am proud of the way we play football and it is early days. I think we will stay up, but if we don't I'm still going to be really proud of our team.
But I believe we are good enough, we are Southampton, we are proud and we stand tall on the South Coast. We will stay up, that I'm sure... Coys

Regardless of the fact they have played five, we have played 3, they are in league 1 with a borrowed side and a borrowed ref, we are in the best league in the world with all our own team and own ground!

Sooner or later it all seems to revert to some supporter from a much much lower league club rambling on about their dreams of doing as well as The Saints. Rebuilding like the Saints, getting back to the Premiership like the Saints, having a brilliant squad like the Saints, buying players like the Saints. The whiff of envy in every post they make is pure perfume to the cultured Saints fan nose.
Or to put it simply for the hard of thinking, living up to the sheer dream of being The Saints.
Maybe you'll be lucky and somebody with shedloads of cash will buy them. In the meantimne they must feel free to bask in our glory, and warm themselves in the bright sunny rays of our brilliance.

so are we not allowed to watch crawley? you see when there is an international break the big teams dont play so sky are forced to put truly awful games on, i think they call it comedy day! i did watch yes and what i saw was 10 men of crawley being as good if not better than 12 men of poopey. only when your 12th man sent off the second crawley player did you manage to get some goals! even with 9 men crawley still should have scored.
so is it al mirage coming back for you then? £12.5mill into a bank account, is that money borrowed from balrain?

I dont go along with the thought that its fine to be a yoyo club... Finances would be ok but players would come and go and that causes problems in itself. Staying up is all we need to do at the moment and that will be fine. Wont be easy but we're definitely good enough. lets hope we get some luck too
