Give Guly a break. Can't he even sit on the bench properly? He's a Saints player so should be supported that way just like every other player who pulls on the Saints jersey. Confident we will win this afternoon, fancy a 3-1 win with Sir Rickie of Lambert scoring first. Any live feeds for today's game? COYR'S

..... behind the wheel of my car, somewhere in the Vosges Mountains, stopping periodically to get updates on my phone .....

..... it was Guly's fault that Nigel was forced to take Fox of at half time and they are both to blame for the 2,000 empty seats. Although it's a bit much, as some have, to blame either for the Euro crisis, which, given his reluctance to play Luke Shaw, is clearly Nigel's fault.

Just quoting this to back up my opinion that foxy can't be held solely accountable for the villa goal, as mentioned in the quote we gave the ball away at the edge of our box twice in quick succession before it was played into the far post where fox was out muscled in the air, still then we could have cleared our lines but the lads looked like rabbits caught in headlights and bent stole in to toe poke it home. To single out fox solely would be wrong so give the bloke a break

Oh - forgot to mention - Laurenson on MoTD last night - what a ****** One minute it's we'll never get Ramirez and now its "we'll do well to hang on to Adkins". What cheap and ungenerous comments - they sound like those I'd expect from a Sun reporter - cheap.

I think it was 'arry who said we'd be lucky to keep a hold adkins, or maybe they both said it!

Either way, I though the axis of evil (for saints) comprised by the weekly motd panel was suitable gracious last night.

I would agree with the views that linking srl to grant holt is crappy analysis, and kind of a slight on the lamb. They both shape up the same way in front of goal, but rickie does so much more in defense and midfield.

Saying that I'm not sure rickie would sut englands style of play, which is more based on position specialists. But I bet rickie would answer a few of England's problems with holding up the ball.

Reality check, it's Everton next and it is probably the wrong time to be taking them on, they are on a rich vein of form and keeping their forwards quiet isn't going to be easy.

Dear Match Of The Day pundits: it's not actually the law that you have to mention Grant Holt in the same sentence as Rickie Lambert every single sodding time you talk about him (which, believe me, you'll be doing a lot this year). Not only is the comparison cliched and lazy; it also makes you look like a total fucktard because anyone who has seen the two will know Rickie is ten times the player Holt is.

    Cheers,

    St Retford off the interspazz.

I think that they make that comparison because they are both big, that is where the comparison ends.

agree with the lambert/holt quotes but also get fed up with these pundits who link saints with norwich, yes we have both been promoted twice in two years, but we are totally different clubs.

Very true, but they have not played Southampton FC yet!

Our defence is far better yesterday, and will only get stronger, and Maya is going to be the man! No nonse player.

But our first line of defence is attack, and any team we play will mainly be thinking off what is coming at their goal in the main. No game in the prem is going to be easy, and I for one always think Saints are at their best playing stronger teams and often make a mess of games they should easily win.

This is the best time to play Everton. They are hot at the moment, and Saints can move forward on the back of a good win, by playing their game and hopefully bursting Everton bubble! Someone got to, and why not Saints?

Ok I have to hold my hands up here, I had a wobble, after the arsenal game I thought that the drubbing meant nothing but was really concerned that we couldnt stem the flow.
But NA has renewed my confidence in not only him but the way in which he drives the club forward.
Ramirez is 24 carat quality, and the wizard in midfield, that we needed, cant get over the way he compliments lallana,I thought they would be in direct competition ,but no,they are both on the same level,a joy to watch.
The keepers position is now sorted, competition is a healthy thing especially in that position, fight back Kelv for the jersey-your choice.
We made aston villa look doomed, passing ,movement and I loved the way clyne popped up in the box to bang one in,because thats what arsenal did to us,they kept rotating but in this game we took the fight to them, lesson learnt, that is the saints style ,and I loved it.

the best thing about the win today is the fact that the Saints fans were 99% behind the manager and the team... contrast that with what the Blackburn manager had to put up with last night in their home game.. A few ar5eholes aside, saints are amonst the best supporters in the country...

How many times did sensible Saints fans say last week that we need to get behind the manager, none of this negative rubbish.

This shows what can be done if we do support and stick together.

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up when we were singing "there's only one Nigel Atkins". One of the reasons I love Southampton so much is because of the majority of our supporters are amazing. Everyone should pat themselves on the back, except the moaning doomsayers!
