Hampshire have been allowed to replace Danny Briggs with David Balcombe for the duration of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament.

The competition's technical committee confirmed that they had approved the change.

Briggs, 21, who is currently on international duty with England in the ICC World Twenty20, has a wedding that clashes with Hampshire's fixtures.

A statement released by the technical committee said: "Briggs is due to be married and go away on his honeymoon at the same time as Hampshire plays their second match in the CLT20 Qualifier - against Sialkot Stallions on 11 October – and would also be unavailable if England’s domestic T20 champions progress to the Group Stage.

"As a result, the CLT20 Technical Committee has approved Hampshire’s application to replace Briggs for the duration of the tournament."
