Hampshire lost their Champions League warm-up game against Sri Lanka’s domestic Twenty20 winners.

The Royals were beaten by six wickets in their friendly against Uva Next, following their arrival in Johannesburg.

New Zealander Jacob Oram (3-13) bowled with pace and bounce, dismissing Michael Carberry and James Vince as Hampshire were restricted to 135-8, Glenn Maxwell making 32.

Australian all-rounder Andrew McDonald then blitzed a rapid 70 as Uva cruised to victory.

Hampshire play their two qualifiers against Auckland Aces and Sialkot Stallions on Wednesday and Thursday.
