Injury forces Briggs out of New Zealand tour

Hampshire spinner Danny Briggs has been ruled out of England’s final One Day International against India as well as the forthcoming T20 International Series against New Zealand and Lions tours of Australia with a sprained right ankle.
The injury was sustained in a fitness session this morning in Dharamsala.
Briggs will now fly back to the UK after tomorrow’s ODI and will go for scans on his return. Yorkshire’s Joe Root will replace Briggs in the England T20I squad.
