Shane Warne has insisted he WILL return for a fifth season as Hampshire captain next summer.
Warne hinted that he is ready to end his county career in his Australian newspaper column last month and last week Hampshire director of cricket Tim Tremlett admitted that the 38-year-old's Hampshire future was "in the balance".
The leg-spinner was tempted to spend the next county season with his children and by helping out at St Kilda Aussie Rules club in Melbourne.
But throughout his fourth season as Hampshire captain, he insisted he would honour the last year of his contract, and that remains the case.
Speaking at a pro-am golf tournament in Australia yesterday, Warne said: "I wasn't sure what I was going to do next year but at this stage I can confirm that I'm definitely going back to Hampshire next summer."
