Hants set to be without Afridi again

Daily Echo: SHAHID AFRIDI SHAHID AFRIDI

Hampshire are not expecting Shahid Afridi to be available for tomorrow's Friends Life t20 game against Middlesex.

The Royals were hoping Afridi would be back in time to make his first appearance of the season, alongside fellow overseas man and Melbourne Renegades teammate Glenn Maxwell, at Richmond.

But having returned to Pakistan following visa problems, he is not expected to arrive in time.

Afridi should be available for the second half of the Royals' group campaign but there are also doubts over his availability for t20 Finals Day.

Hampshire welcome back Danny Briggs from Twenty20 interantional squad duty tomorrow.

Jimmy Adams, Michael Carberry, James Vince,Neil McKenzie, Sean Ervine, Glenn Maxwell, Liam Dawson, Dimi Mascarenhas, Chris Wood, Danny Briggs, Michael Bates, Kabir Ali, Simon Katich

Much as I love Boom Boom is it really worth him coming now? Who would we leave out for him? I don't understand how these overseas players have so much trouble with visas, we let just about everyone else in! At least they know the cricketers have paid jobs to come to and will leave at the end of their contract as they move on to earn more money elsewhere.
