LYMINGTON will be keeping an anxious eye on tomorrow morning’s London Heathrow flight arrivals as they wait for New South Wales batsman Scott Henry to jet in for his ECB Southern Electric Premier League debut.

The 24-year old New South Wales left-hand opener is due to touch down at breakfast time and, despite being jet-lagged from a 24-hour flight from Sydney, will dashto the Ageas Bowlto play againstthe Hampshire Academy.

If he arrives on time, Henry will complete the Ageas Bowl International Academy foursome in action tomorrow – fellow Australians Will Bosisto (Totton & Eling) and Travis Head (Ventnor) also debuting in the second round of matches.

Henry’s presence at the top of the order will boost Lymington, who brushed off the disappointment of losing their ECB Club Championship cup tie at Basingstoke & North Hants with a win over Alton.

Michael Porter, the young Academy captain, expects to find himself in the fast lane if he faces former Poole Town team-mate Martyn Ford.

“He’s my uncle, so I’m expecting a few short one’s,” Porter reckons.

As well as Henry, Lymington skipper Ali Jaffer also brings in fast bowler Dave Kidner, at the expense of Guy Layman and Ed Freeman.

Jaffer said: “It is tough because we have a lot of resources when it comes to fast bowlers.

“The lads we have are all good club people but we have taken the pitch into consideration and the other players will be helping the seconds get closer to the standard of the first team.

On the match, Jaffer added: “We're looking forward to playing against young, talented cricketers.”
