Six-smasher Shu Choudhury blitzed his second consecutive Southern Electric Premier Division One century as t20 Cup finalists Burridge knocked off 255-6 to beat Fawley by four wickets at Botley Road. Choudhury, who belted the Rowledge attack for 187 as Burridge piled up 408 the previous week, led from the front again, hitting 137 as Burridge romped home with almost 14 overs to spare.

He cracked four sixes and 20 boundaries - 104 of his 137 runs crossing the rope – in a 100-ball stay at the crease.

The former Totton & Eling batsman didn’t need much help from anyone else, although Geoff Dods (22) played a support role in a 107-run third-wicket partnership.

“He really is on fire at the moment and I just hope Shu can take this sort of form into our floodlight final on Wednesday week,” said skipper Rick Ankers, who was one of three victims for Wayne Royan (3-59).

Fawley, who made 251-6, didn’t help themselves by sending down 42 wides – more than six of their players managed with the bat !

The Fawley total was built around Mark Thorne (71) and Paul Marks (50), who shared a century second-wicket stand.

Dods unsettled Fawley’s middle-order, taking 3-69.
