THE Tom Jordan saga looks set to run for at least another week.
Eastleigh have been back to Havant & Waterlooville with a FOURTH bid for the towering central defender, but it seems certain that nothing will be settled until after the Hawks' monumental FA Cup fourth round trip to Liverpool this Saturday.
"I spoke to Derek Pope (Havant's director of football) last Thursday and I'm waiting for him to come back to me, but I wouldn't think anything will happen yet because of the FA Cup game," confirmed Eastleigh boss Ian Baird yesterday.
Havant manager Shaun Gale has left negotiations to Pope but said: "From what I'm told Eastleigh still haven't offered the full asking price.
"They've offered us £15,000 for Tom, but we've also asked for money after so many appearances.
"It's up to Derek now to go back to them, but nothing will happen prior to the Liverpool game which Tom has a very good chance of going to."
Incredibly, Jordan - son of ex-Saint Joe - is so keen to join Eastleigh that he is prepared to miss a dream trip to Anfield to get his wish of a move to the Silverlake Stadium.
"I find that amazing," said Gale. "But Tom's entitled to his opinion."
