Promotion-chasing Eastleigh have completed one new signing and should have another in the bag for tomorrow's tricky Blue Square South assignment at second-placed Eastbourne Borough.

Pedigree midfielder Karl Murray, 26, completed his move from Grays Athletic in time to make a substitute appearance for the Spitfires in Saturday's 0-0 draw at relegation-battlers Sutton United.

And next in for Eastleigh is Sutton striker Warren McBean who, paperwork allowing, may be drafted straight in tomorrow as a replacement for top gun Andy Forbes, who limped out of the action just after half-time on Saturday.

"Forbesy took a kick to the ankle and it's swelled up quite badly, so he's out for tomorrow," reported manager Ian Baird.

New signing Murray - a former Shrewsbury Town and England Non-League player - is also struggling after turning his ankle towards the end of Saturday's Gander Green Lane stalemate, which has dropped Baird's play-off seekers one place to fifth.
