AFC TOTTON boss Steve Riley has no plans to dip into the loan market in the near future.

But having watched on with pride as one-time Stags loanee Baily Cargill made his debut for England under-20s this week – scoring in the process - Riley is always open to the idea of helping another bright, young talent on his way.

Cargill is one of several Cherries youngsters to have learned their trade in the senior men’s game with Totton in recent seasons, along with the likes of Harrison Gilkes, Jordan Chiedozie, Lewis Lindsay and Jake McCarthy.

“It’s great to see players like Baily coming up through the system and kicking on to the next level and it was good to hear him advising other young players to go out on loan to progress their careers,” said Riley.

“We’ve got no loans in the pipeline at the moment.

“We haven’t used a great deal of players this season and I like to get a bit of continuity.

“If we were to get bad injuries I would look at bring some of our under-18 players through.

“But I’ve said to Bournemouth and (development coach) Stephen Purches that if he’s got players who need games and they’re areas we can improve, then we’d have a look at it.”

Totton, currently tenth in the Evo-Stik Southern One South & West, have no weekend game due to Mangotsfield United’s FA Trophy involvement.

This week’s postponed Red Insure Cup second round tie against Premier Division top dogs Poole Town has been rearranged for this coming Tuesday (November 18, 7.45pm).
