AFC TOTTON should be approaching full strength again for Saturday's tricky home assignment against Tiverton Town in the Southern One South & West.

With several players ineligible, manager Louis Langdown made changes galore on Tuesday as the Stags were beaten 3-1 by runaway Combined Counties leaders Hartley Wintney in the quarter-finals of the Hampshire FA Senior Cup.

They took the lead when Dylan Knight got a touch to Nick Watts’ goal-bound cross-shot from the right.

But Hartley punished the Stags from set-pieces as Ross Cook’s free-kick and ex-Saint Sam Argent’s penalty contributed to their downfall either side of Totton’s Oshea McDonald being sent off on his debut.

Although disappointed to bow out of the Cup, defeat came as no great surprise to Langdown who said: “That was Hartley Wintney’s first team, whereas we had seven unavailable.

“We conceded from two set-pieces and the other one came when Jack Vallis missed his clearance.

“On the plus side, we had two 17-year-olds involved, Callum Hellyar and Harry Prisk, and it was good experience for them."

Wideman Watts managed just 45 minutes before bowing out with hamstring trouble, making him doubtful for the visit of third-placed Tiverton.

Defender Sam Roberts (hamstring) is still sidelined, but Langdown hopes to have young AFC Bournemouth centre-back Tyler Cordner back from ankle trouble for what will undoubtedly be a tough game for the third-to-bottom Stags.

Tivvy are level on points with second-placed Evesham with a game in hand. “It’s going to be a challenge, to say the least,” said Langdown.

Fans are reminded that Saturday is a 'Kids Go Free Day' at the Testwood Stadium.

*Fourth-placed Salisbury - home to Slimbridge on Saturday - have welcomed winger Taurean Roberts back into the fold.

The 26-year-old left the Whites during the summer having helped them to the Sydenhams Premier title.

He has spent the past six months at Tooting & Mitcham, who are top of Ryman One South.

Salisbury's director of football Mick Jenkins said: “I’m delighted to see Taurean back in a Salisbury shirt. He scored some fantastic goals for us last season."
