HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE'S want-away defender Tom Jordan still wants to join Blue Square South rivals Eastleigh - even it means giving up a "once in a lifetime" chance to face Liverpool at Anfield.

That was Havant's FA Cup fourth round reward for stunning League One leaders Swansea City 4-2 in their third round replay in which Jordan headed the fourth goal.

The centre-back's days at Westleigh Park looked over when he made it clear he wanted to follow former Hawks manager Ian Baird - who controversially swapped Havant for Eastleigh in October last year - to the Spitfires.

Jordan, son of Pompey first-team coach and ex-Dell striker Joe, gave up the Hawks captaincy, was duly dropped.

Only a recent defensive injury crisis has provided him with a way back into the first-team reckoning.

The 26-year-old, though, claims he won't go back on his word even after Wednesday's giant-killing.

Jordan said: "I have said to the guys it would be double standards of me to say one week I want to go and then now we have got the draw at Anfield to say I will stay.

"I have nailed my colours to the mast now and if that does mean missing a once in a lifetime game at Anfield then I have to say that I feel that I would like to go to Eastleigh.

"It is one of those situations which I hope will get resolved. Watch this space and see what happens."

And something could well happen soon.

Eastleigh have had three bids for the defender turned down so far but Baird revealed yesterday that the Spitfires are preparing to go back to Havant with an improved bid that matches their asking price.
