Eastleigh have confirmed that highly rated centre back Joe Partington will stay at the Silverlake Stadium until the end of the season.

The Spitfires took Partington initially on a month loan from AFC Bournemouth but have now taken the option to extend his stay.

That is likely to wrap-up a productive transfer window for Richard Hill's side, who have brought in Brian Howard, Harry Pell and Dan Walker as well as Partington recently.

A big admirer of the 24-year-old,  Hill recently said: “He’d be playing every week in the Football League if he hadn’t had the injuries he’s had.

“Anyone who watched Alex Lacey play for us (on loan from Luton) would have said ‘what a good player’ and, if they’re fortunate enough to have seen them both, they would be saying the same thing about Joe.”
