EASTLEIGH passed their latest pre-season test last night, beating Tom Killick's Poole Town 4-2.
The Spitfires’ first home friendly was an entertaining affair, watched by a Friday evening crowd of 468 at the Silverlake Stadium.
Poole – newly promoted to the National League South – enjoyed much of the early possession, but Eastleigh went 2-0 up through newly recruited strike duo Scott Wilson and Mikael Mandron just after the half-hour.
James Constable, on as a half-time substitute, made quick work of scoring Eastleigh’s other two goals – his brace sandwiched between two cracking strikes from the Dolphins' ex-Tranmere winger Abdulai Baggie which went in off the crossbar.
Chris Todd’s National League promotion hopefuls have won five out of six friendlies to date.
They will step up a gear on Tuesday (7.45pm) at home to League Two outfit Barnet.
