EASTLEIGH have reached the end of an era today with the departure of one of their longest-serving players.

Popular midfielder Jai Reason has signed for Boreham Wood, ending a highly successful four-and-a-half-year stay at the Silverlake Stadium.

The former Ipswich Town and Braintree man joined the Spitfires in the summer of 2012 when Ian Baird was still in charge and went on to become an integral part of the Conference South title-winning team managed by Richard Hill.

He leaves having made over 250 first-team appearances for the Vanarama National League outfit.

Eastleigh chairman Stewart Donald commented: “I remember when Jai signed for the club and his first day of pre-season training.

"We had managed to sign him from Braintree and it was a real coup for us.

"I knew we had signed a super player and thought he would be a terrific signing for us.

"I was right and Jai has been absolutely fantastic for us.

"He is super lad and has always been a real pleasure to have around the place.

"It is now a new chapter for him and us and I wish him every success at Boreham Wood. He is joining a very well run club with lots of ambition and I am sure he will do well."
