Puma Engineering Hampshire Premier League Senior side QK Southampton have announced a link-up with Southampton Schools football.

Mark Sainsbury’s side currently sit at the foot of the Senior division with just two wins from 13 games.

But that hasn’t stopped QK planning for the future, with intentions of getting promoted to the Wessex ranks.

And as a part of that they have opened their doors to the city’s under-14 representative team, meaning they will play all their games at Queens Keep’s base in Lordshill.

QK director of football, Peter Fowle, believes it’s important to welcome the young team to their home.

“It makes sense for us to offer our facilities to the Southampton Schools representative team,” he said.

“We are a community club and therefore we look to support and collaborate with other local teams and businesses where we can.

“When we were initially approached by Southampton Schools, we were delighted to be considered as a potential home facility.

“Talking with Peter Hadfield (Southampton Schools coach), it was clear from the outset what expectations there were and so we just needed to put a plan in place to ensure we delivered to those. “Initially we hosted trial games for the representative team at our facilities, putting in place many of the requirements needed to support competitive games, just to see how we performed and to ensure we met the expectations.

“Based on these successful trials games, Peter Hadfield opted for QK Southampton to be the home for the Southampton Schools U14 team this season”

Over the coming season QK Southampton will host eight home games.
