THE Sydenhams Wessex League Premier title chase took yet another twist as Gosport carved out a 2-0 victory at boss Alex Pike's former club Wimborne.

Boro's win takes them to within three points of leaders AFC Totton - with two games in hand - after the FA Vase semi-finalists were held in an exciting six-goal thriller at Cams Alders.

It's the second time this season that Fareham have shared a 3-3 draw with Stuart Ritchie's side.

After a goalless first half at The Cuthbury, a superb diving header by Danny Sturman from a Danny Thompson free-kick gave Gosport a 50th minute lead.

They doubled that on 78 minutes following a great run by Wayne Boud who squared the ball for Sturman to again slot home.

"We had Graham Mills, Kevin Gill, Dave Birmingham and Adam Camfield all missing through suspension and Neil Scammell out injured so this is a great result," beamed Pike.

In stark contrast, Totton manager Stuart Ritchie was sent from the dugout during his side's draw at Fareham.
