EX-SAINT Tommy Widdrington's future at Salisbury City is believed to be in the balance.
Whites' player-coach did not travel with the team for their 3-1 Blue Square Premier victory at York City on Saturday.
It's understood he's been suspended for disciplinary reasons relating to the club's recent mid-season break to Valencia, Spain.
The matter was discussed at a board meeting on Monday afternoon, but yesterday the Wiltshire outfit had no comment to make, saying only: "It is purely an internal matter and will be handled internally."
Widdrington, a tough, no-nonsense midfielder who made almost 100 appearances for Saints, has had a troubled season.
In September, he was left with a broken nose after falling victim of a headbutt following the 1-1 draw at home to Rushden.
Rushden boss Garry Hill pleaded guilty to the headbutting charge and was fined £500, handed a two-week ban by the FA and a further touchline ban of ten games, five of them suspended for one year.
Wiltshire Police are still investigating the incident which was captured on video.
