BURNLEY have won the race for Swindon hotshot Charlie Austin, fighting off a host of clubs, including Saints, to claim his signature.
The 21-year-old striker has moved to Turf Moor for an undisclosed fee, putting pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
Austin, who has bagged 17 goals this season, handed in a transfer request at the County Ground this month and was being chased by a number of clubs.
The former Poole Town forward looked set for a move to Ipswich on Thursday, but talks broke down with the Championship side.
Austin has instead chosen to link up with former Cherries boss Eddie Howe, who is now manager at Burnley.
