ALTON Town are fighting for their future after being given notice to quit their Bass Sports Ground home at the end of the season by landlords Molson Coors.

But the Sydenhams Premier club put their worries behind them to trounce New Milton Town 5-1 at the ground they have called home for 30 years.

Sam Knight (3), Harry Little and ex-Saint Lloyd Foot scored for the Brewers before the third-to-bottom Linnets replied with an own goal.

Elsewhere, substitute Connor Phillips rescued Bournemouth Poppies a 1-1 draw at his former club Horndean after Dan Hayes had given the Deans a first-half lead.

Hamworthy United – shorn of 13 players – managed a 1-0 win at Verwood Town courtesy of Carl Bradley.

“It was a shocking advert for Wessex Premier football from both sides,” admitted Verwood boss Adie Arnold.
